Laura Scripture
Principal & CEO
Laura founded Summit Construction Management in 2014 in response to the need for dynamic and innovative thinkers in the real estate project management industry. Laura’s 16 years of construction industry experience include running her family's development company in Virginia, working for a General Contractor in San Francisco and three years with a small Construction Management group. She has represented a wide variety of tenants in the San Francisco Bay Area and has found her passion in ensuring client happiness, while delivering projects that are on schedule and within budget. Additional skills include client, vendor and subcontractor coordination, scheduling, cost controls, project documentation, and project closeout. Before entering the construction industry Laura attended Middlebury College where she was Captain of the Ski Team and a 2 time All American.

Amber McCarthy
Head of Enablement
Amber brings nearly 15 years of design and client success experience. Her knowledge of workplace design & strategy comes from her years spent with the top commercial furniture manufacturer and working alongside many SF Bay Area workplace leaders. With a degree in Interior Design and Business Administration from California State University, Chico, coupled with years of industry experience in a variety of roles, Amber is able to provide a unique perspective to the team. She enjoys the challenges each new project brings and is able to utilize her creativity to help clients realize their project goals. Additionally, as director of enablement, she plays a crucial role in supporting and executing various initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Outside of work, Amber spends her time with her family and enjoys hiking the Atlanta mountains and trails, where she resides full-time.
Scott Surface
Vice President
Scott has been with Summit Construction Management for over 8 years and has applied previous construction and management positions to his current role. Scott has developed a unique understanding of client drivers with a sensitivity towards AV, IT, and Security needs. Above and beyond building out tenant improvements for office space has worked on complex projects for MDF rooms, All-Hands Spaces, as well as Sound Studio Spaces. His ability to focus on the big picture while diving into the details with the client and vendors to implement tailored solutions is fantastic. His unique set of organizational skills allows him to track details while keeping a keen eye on the schedule & budget. Scott is often working remotely from Santa Barbara, where in his spare time he can be found surfing, playing guitar, or hanging with his baby boy Atlas!

Wendy Balzano
Vice President
Wendy joined Summit with over 20 years of project management leadership across the construction and real estate development sectors. She has delivered major projects with leading general contractors and played a key role in scaling a fast-paced residential and prefab manufacturing start-up, strengthening her ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic environments. Known for her collaborative leadership and unwavering focus on execution, Wendy consistently delivers projects on time and within budget, earning the trust of clients and stakeholders alike. At Summit, she leverages her deep industry knowledge to drive operational excellence and ensure strategic project alignment.

Bobby Michael
Vice President
Bobby brings 20 years of experience delivering complex office environments for technology companies, with deep expertise in corporate real estate, workplace operations, and large-scale design and construction programs. He has led portfolio strategy, lease/landlord coordination, and high-profile tenant improvement programs at firms including OpenAI, Glassdoor, Stripe, and Dropbox. Known for translating workplace, financial, and utilization data into clear decision frameworks for senior leadership, Bobby pairs strong operational instincts with a collaborative approach to design, construction, and stakeholder management.

Annie Wilson
Senior Project Manager
Annie comes to Summit CM with over 15 years of experience in the commercial interiors industry. With a degree in design and a passion for organization and construction, Annie brings a special balance to each project she touches. Annie's ability to integrate herself with her clients and build an in-depth understanding of needs gives her the tools to build successful teams. Annie is skilled at developing complex schedules and budgets and understands the value of being able to identify risk, scope gaps, and program requirements to ensure fully vetted solutions are proposed to clients. When Annie is not busy solving client changes, she can be found hiking with her lab or skiing in Sun Valley.

Christophe Haeberlin
Senior Project Manager
Christophe brings over 10 years of experience in commercial real estate and construction management to his role as Project Manager at Summit CM. With a background in finance, commercial real estate valuation, and owner’s representation for both occupier and investor scopes, Christophe is skilled at translating complex design intent into practical, budget-conscious solutions. His expertise spans workplace, retail, life sciences, and industrial projects, with notable clients including Logitech, Workday, and a variety of confidential tech and professional services firms. Christophe is known for his thoughtful communication style, attention to detail, and ability to navigate the full project lifecycle—from early planning and design through construction and closeout.

Beth Deye
Senior Project Manager
Beth brings a multidisciplinary background to the team with 11 years of experience in commercial interior design and six years in architectural sales. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, she began her career as an interior designer in Atlanta, where she built an extensive portfolio including large corporate, international, and hospitality projects. She has a great talent for bringing custom designs to reality while meeting budgets, schedules, and manufacturing constraints. After moving to San Francisco in 2011, she focused on corporate interiors as a senior designer. A love of textiles brought her to a large commercial flooring manufacturer where she was responsible for managing major Bay Area accounts. Her passion for aesthetics and love of furniture are balanced with knowledge of procurement and construction details. She is also LEED certified. On the weekends, Beth and her husband can be found traveling the California coast with their three small children.

Justin Gibson
Senior Project Manager
Justin brings a multidisciplinary background to the team with 8 years of experience in construction management and structural engineering. He began his career with a general contractor, gaining firsthand experience managing on-site construction. He later transitioned into structural engineering, earning his PE license and leading projects across the commercial, life sciences, biotech, and higher education sectors. Known for building strong client relationships, fostering collaboration, and communicating with clarity, he is a trusted partner in delivering well-coordinated, successful projects. (In his spare time, Justin can be found fly fishing in the San Francisco Bay or across the Western U.S., and spending time with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Gus.)

Scott Baker
Senior Project Manager
Scott brings over a decade of design and construction management experience to the Summit team, with a background spanning architecture, interiors, and large-scale commercial projects. Starting his career in architecture, he developed a strong foundation in design and technical know-how. His transition into project management expanded his expertise in financial oversight, scheduling, and risk management. Scott’s combined experience in design and delivery enables him to bridge creative vision with practical execution, fostering collaboration among clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve exceptional results.

Bibiana Lozano-Batista
Workplace Strategist | Project Manager
Bibiana is a Workplace Management expert recognized for designing innovative, people-centric workspaces, vendor management, and supporting workplace programming. With over two decades of experience, she skillfully blends space planning, interior design, facilities management, and strategic real estate initiatives to support company growth and foster thriving work cultures. As the former Head of Workplace at Faire and Collective Health, Bibiana successfully oversaw complex office relocations and expansions across multiple locations. She has a proven history of enhancing workplace functionality and employee experience at top companies, including Medium, Venmo, and StumbleUpon.

Kate Mehl
Project Manager
Kate is a results-driven PM who strives to bring order and leadership to projects. She has a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Kate loves to work collaboratively with all members on a project to foster teamwork and open communication, and believes construction can and should be fun! Kate has worked on a variety of projects from phased TI’s in an occupied floor, LL turnkey, full gut & builds, to large campus projects. Kate has a B.A. in Political Science from Seattle University and cut her teeth in the industry working on ground-up UCSF Medical Centers in Mission Bay as a project estimator & project engineer before making the jump to the CM world. She is a San Francisco native who, when not on the job site, can be found on her road bike or at various Bay Area beaches with her Terrier Teddy.

Sarah Tobiason
Assistant Project Manager

Sarah has worked on projects for large, global organizations across finance, energy, technology, and life sciences. Head of Happiness
Sierra is Summit's most popular team member. With a lively spirit and ever-wagging tail, she brings a playful dimension to the team. Sierra is a quick learner and has already mastered a series of valuable skills, including sit, lie down, high-five, and cardboard box demolition. When she's not sniffing around new office spaces, Sierra enjoys walks in the East Bay and eating lots of carrots. Always ready for a good belly rub, Sierra is quick to meet new friends and share a lick or a snuggle.
